MPRC Launch of State of the Media 2014 Report

MPRC on the 27th February 2015 launched The State of the Media Report 2014 and Exploring Kenya’s Media Policy 1963-2013 in a colorful ceremony that was held at the Nairobi Serena Hotel.
The launch which was well represented by media practitioners, stakeholders and scholars marked the culmination of extensive research work, dialogue and peer reviews that MPRC held through 2014 with the assistance of lead researchers, consultants and media experts.
Karachuonyo MP Engineer Rege and Information secretary Hon. Ezekiel Mutua were among the dignitaries from government who graced the occasion and engaged the audience extensively on digital migration.

Speaking during the launch, Information Secretary Dr. Ezekiel Mutua accused NTV, Citizen and KTN of what he termed as misleading the public on digital migration, denying that the government favored the Chinese associated PANG. He said that digital migration was inevitable and that 40 out of the 43 TV channels were happy with the analogue switch off.
